What are odds and sods?

  • These are sets and single items we've opened for photography, or to inspect them
  • They have never been used and never been washed. They are new items that have been handled

  • Each listing is one-off stock, so a size that's here today may not be here next week
  • Our 60-night trial does not apply to odds and sods. Please choose your size carefully before you order

Our most popular sheet

  • The Hotel Sheet is the one that started it all and is our most popular cool and crisp sheet
  • Thousands of happy customers
  • Genuine European cotton hotel cloth, not a hotel-style imitation
  • Direct from the hospitality arm of a leading bed and bath textile mill in Europe
  • Used in hotels throughout Europe
  • Cool and crisp, light n' airy
  • We've sold direct since 2010, so you won't find us in shops. Beware of imitations

What should I expect?

  • Cool and crisp, light n' airy
  • Durable for weight (light = cool)
  • 100% natural fibres

What shouldn't I expect?

  • They're not heavy, thick, warm, silky or soft (thick = warm)
  • They're not quick to pill, the way many high thread count sheets are

What do they feel like? That classic, crisp hotel feel

  • Ever wondered why hotel sheets feel so crisp?
  • Most of it is the recipe itself: a low thread count in a percale weave
  • In our experience the last 10% comes from the roller dryer commercial laundries use, which dries and presses in one go

Doing the hot/cold dance all night?

  • "It's not just you. The wrong bedding makes it worse. After years of testing, these were the first sheets to let me sleep through." - Christina Guy, founder
  • If like me you're a "young lady of a certain age" (LOL), or you sleep with a foot hanging out, you'll know it
  • If you're perimenopausal, the temperature range your body finds comfortable for sleep narrows to almost nothing
  • Half a degree from a duvet, or from the person beside you, is enough to wake you
  • Then you're lying there at 3am doing sums about how many hours are left
  • Sleep hot generally? Most men do. Different heat, same fix

Want better sleep? Stop trapping heat

  • Most sheets trap heat, either because of a tight weave (sateen), the thickness of the sheets (thicker = hotter) or human-made fibres masquerading as natural fibres (bamboo, eucalyptus, lyocell, Tencel™ and other 'plant-based' sheets which are all different forms of rayon)
  • The Hotel Sheet is the opposite: 100% natural fibres, woven in an open weave that helps release heat instead of trapping it

How did we discover this sheet recipe? 16 years of sleep-testing

  • In our experience, most retailers don't sleep-test their bedding
  • We've tested this recipe against Tencel™, bamboo, Naia™, poly/cotton, linen, and cotton from 150TC to 1000TC (bamboo/eucalyptus/lyocell/Tencel™ are all just rayon BTW)
  • Sleep-tested in a temperature-controlled bedroom
  • Nothing's a miracle cure, but our cotton recipe trapped the least heat of anything we tested, alongside our Egyptian sheet

What makes our hotel cloth trap less heat?

  • The weave: open percale, so heat moves through it
  • The weight: light, because thick traps heat
  • The fibre: 100% natural
  • The layers: your free SleepLayers™ guide, emailed with your order
  • Stop trapping heat and have your best sleeps

Want more life? Rest and rotate

  • Sheets do better with two or three days' rest after washing. This applies to all natural fibre textiles, not just sheets, and not just ours
  • Each to their own but if you want any sheet to last longer, you have to rest them between washes
  • Straight back on the bed weakens the fibres and shortens their life
  • Which is why two thirds of our customers go one week on, one week off
