Direct To Consumer Since 2010

We work with the hotel and hospitality division of one of Europe’s largest bed-and-bath textile mills. This specialist team designs, tests, and weaves an extensive range of premium hospitality textiles. We source a small portion of their production and sell it to consumers direct-only. Beware of imitations.

This cotton hotel sheet is so popular with our mill that it's often in continuous production–roughly one million square metres are woven each year. We secure a small allocation and offer it direct to consumers as The Classic Hotel Sheet.

The finished sheet is crisp, light, and breathable. Its lighter weight helps regulate temperature, yet it still delivers impressive durability. For a natural-fibre sheet, it offers an excellent price-to-performance ratio, making it popular with hotels that provide guests with pure cotton (which is rare).

Some people claim to know the linens used in every hotel worldwide and therefore question the information above. If that sounds like you, we engaged an independent law firm to contact our mill directly, read their opinion letter.

The same light and crisp recipe as The Classic Hotel Sheet, but made from 100% DNA-tested, long-staple Egyptian cotton—widely acknowledged as one of the finest cottons in the world. Hence the price! This cloth is also in regular production with our mill but being a small company, we can secure only a limited quantity, which we offer to consumers as The Egyptian Hotel Sheet.

The finished sheet is crisp, super breathable and strong. The fibre’s remarkable thin-yet-strong structure delivers outstanding breathability and durability—precisely why premium Egyptian cotton is so highly prized.

Egypt produces only a fraction of the cotton needed to supply the vast array of products marketed as “Egyptian cotton” so always insist on a DNA test. Authentic, independently verified Egyptian cotton is exceptionally rare, and is always pricey. If stock is available and it fits your budget, act promptly as popular sizes never last long.

Most hotels opt for less expensive poly-cotton bedding, so properties in Australasia are unlikely to use pure-cotton sheets like ours. Poly-cotton is also widely supplied by commercial laundries, allowing hotels to rent linens instead of buying.

As a result, even in five-star chains charging more than NZ $1,000 per night, guests are usually sleeping on fabric that's essentially 50% plastic—shocking, we know. By contrast, 100% cotton bedding is more common in European hotels, although sadly, it's still far from standard.

For example, the care label below is from a four-star hotel in Europe—it reads 100 percent cotton. This is virtually unheard of in five-star establishments across Australasia, let alone four-star properties. It also explains why some industry “experts” dismiss our 100 percent cotton hotel sheets as a marketing gimmick—they’ve simply never encountered pure-cotton commercial bedding.

And yes, we’re sheet nerds who check labels - sad!

Our bedding and towels are not sold in retail shops. Beware of imitations—we’ve seen an increase in disappointed consumers filing quality complaints about products from other brands. Shop online directly, or stop by our stand at a home show—these are currently the only ways to purchase The Hotel Sheet brand.
