Stop Trapping Heat
Stop Trapping Heat
- After testing almost every type of bedding, one thing is clear; retailers don't sleep-test or if they do, they're not hot sleepers.
- If you sleep with a foot hanging out, are a “young lady of a certain age” (LOL), or just run hot (most men do), this basket-weave percale cloth releases heat and is perfect for hot sleepers.
- Tested against: Tencel®, lyocel, bamboo, Naia™, Mynt, poly/cotton, bamboo/cotton, and most styles of cotton from 150TC to 1000TC in a temperature controlled bedroom. Bamboo is just rayon BTW.
- Nothing is a miracle cure but our bedding consistently traps the least heat of any bedding tested.
- To get the most from this bedding, use with our Sleep Layers™ guide, emailed free with every purchase.

Why you'll love them
-
Beautiful, relaxed look
Our linen has a beautiful, drapey relaxed look, further enhanced with our soft garment wash. After testing linen from Europe and Asia for years, these were softer and lighter, so better for hot sleepers like us.
-
Size labels and colour
Our bedding comes with an extra size label so you can identify sizes. Tip: Colours never last as long as whites. Regularly flip our reversible cover from charcoal to riverstone for better colour longevity.
-
Inner flaps for each colour
Not only are we one of the few bedding companies offering large, 22cm inner flaps, our reversible pillowcases provide two of them, ensuring your pillow remains hidden matter which colour is facing up.
-
They'll fit NZ sizes
Our duvet covers and pillowcases are cut to standard New Zealand sizes. Tip: Linen bedding doesn't like heat, especially for shrinkage. Cold wash and avoid dryers and irons.
RNR: Rest & Rotate For More Life
All natural fibres (not just ours) need at least three days’ rest after washing. Putting bedding (especially sheets) straight back on the bed weakens and shortens their life. This is why most people go one week on, one week off. To get the most life from any natural bedding, not just ours (including linen), add new bedding to your existing rotation.
Wake-up hot? Don't make these mistakes
-
Avoid bamboo (it's rayon)
Bamboo bedding isn't natural, it's rayon. But for hot sleepers, it's much hotter, even when blended. Natural fibres win every time so settle for nothing less. Your sleep deserves better.
-
Avoid higher thread counts
High thread count is thicker and hotter. Thread count also has nothing to do with quality at the price most pay. But after sleep testing, high thread counts were as hot as poly/cotton. Avoid.
-
Avoid sateen
Sateen isn't a finish, it's a closed weave that traps heat. It's generally used for higher thread counts, making their thickness even hotter. Yes, they're silky but they trap heat. Avoid.
-
The only cotton alternative
Linen is natural with an open weave. It's slightly warmer than low TC cotton because of thickness. That's why our linen uses a 170gsm weight - better temperature regulation.
