Don’t Let Temperature Ruin Your Sleep

"After years of testing, I learned two things: sleep is complex, and temperature will ruin it. I fix the sheet layer, and help you to balance the rest."
Top sellers: Fresh n' crisp bedding
After 15 years of sleep-testing, nothing regulates temperature better.

Wake-up hot? No miracle cures, just practical advice
-
We used to struggle too
After testing almost every type of sheet, one thing is clear; retailers don't sleep-test their sheets or if they do, they're not struggling with heat. Nothing works if you start with the wrong sheet.
-
Balance all layers
Temperature regulating sheets like ours can't do their job unless all layers in the bed are balanced. For best sleep, we help you balance your body layer, the sheet layer, and top layers.

15 years of testing
Sleep Layersâ„¢ is a set of tips developed over 15 years in a temperature controlled bedroom. It helps menopausal sleepers, hot sleepers, and both hot and cold sleepers in the same bed.
Sleep deprivation is torture. I've been there, it's horrible...

- Lack of sleep slows reaction times, reduces focus, memory, and decision-making ability. The impairment is similar to alcohol.
- It also makes regulating emotions harder, leading to irritability, mood swings, and over the long-term, anxiety and depression.
- Sleep is when the body repairs itself, so missing it weakens immune function. Regular broken sleep can also alter hunger and satiety hormones, leading to overeating, sugar cravings, and weight gain.
- Bad sleep disrupts blood sugar regulation, increasing risk of insulin resistance, while lowering daily energy and motivation.
- Chronic sleep deprivation is strongly linked to elevated blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. Sleep disruption also prevents the brain from clearing toxins overnight, raising the risk of Alzheimers and dementia.

Broken sleep? Avoid Bamboo, it's rayon

Bamboo bedding isn't natural, it's rayon. The US Federal Trade Commission has been suing US retailers since 2013. But for hot sleepers, it's much hotter than balanced cotton sheets like ours. Natural fibres win every time so settle for nothing less. Your sleep deserves better.
Wake-up hot? Avoid high thread counts

High thread count sheets are thicker, but thickness for any reason traps heat. Worse, the majority of high thread count sheets use a closed weave called sateen, which traps even more heat. Adding insult to injury, thread count has nothing to do with quality! But if you struggle with heat, our sleep testing puts high thread count sheets on-par with poly/cotton in terms of heat. Yes, they're silky but they're heat traps. Avoid.
Linen is good, but still hotter

We’ve spent years testing linen sheets because they’re natural, and use an open weave. The trouble is thickness, which holds on to heat. We only use linen in winter now. The feel is also subjective, some felt like a hessian sack, while nicer ones felt like sleeping in clothes. They never had the fresh n' crisp feel we prefer. If linen works for you, it's a great choice. But for us, it was second best at regulating temperature. Your millage may vary.
What we sleep on instead
Direct from the hospitality arm of one of Europe’s largest bed-and-bath textile mills, The Classic Hotel Sheet is fresh n' crisp, and light n' airy. It uses an open weave (percale) in the more airy thread count used by the majority of hotels: 250TC. We've been selling direct to consumers since 2010, so you won't find us in shops. Beware of imitations.
Tested for 1,000+ harmful substances
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Class II is a higher certification. It means our textiles are safe for direct, prolonged skin contact because every component is independently tested against 1,000+ harmful substances. All our textiles are woven, sewn and made in Portugal.
Christina says: "Layer right, sleep tight."

For many people, switching to our temperature regulating sheets is enough. But for me, it was also discovering the right layers. I call it Sleep Layersâ„¢, and this optional layering advice is emailed with every purchase. It works for hot sleepers, menopause and both hot and cold sleepers in the same bed. No miracle cures, just practical, sleep-tested advice.
How many layers?
- The body layer: What you wear, or don’t wear to bed.
- The sheet layer: Our breathable sheets, including a top sheet.
- The top layer: Duvet (or not), blankets, throws.
I show you how to find your Sleep Layersâ„¢ so each person in the bed can find their Goldilocks temperature.
How natural?
Human-made fibres like polyester, bamboo, eucalyptus, rayon, Tencel® and other "plant-based" fibres can sound natural, but aren't. Worse, they trap heat. Even when blended with natural fibres, human-made fibres make us hotter. That’s why I stick with 100% cotton. When woven right, cotton works better than linen.
How light?
Whether from high thread counts, thicker yarns like linen, human-made fibres like polyester, or heat-trapping weaves like sateen, thicker fabrics trap more heat. The best bedding is light but strong, hence our cotton hotel sheets from Europe.
Why Sleep Layersâ„¢ works

- Heat regulation, not cooling - While most men sleep hot, menopausal women are hot and cold. The right sheet forms a breathable base. Then multiple, light top layers, balance temperature swings during the night.
- No bamboo, natural fibres only - Bamboo sheets are rayon, and most hotel sheets contain polyester. Both trap heat. Some European hotels use 100% cotton sheets, woven for airflow. That's what we offer.
- Multiple, light top layers - With a little modification, many people already have the right top layers to get the most from our temperature regulating sheets. I offer options, choose what's best for you.
- Hot and cold sleepers in the same bed - When one partner runs hot and the other cold, a duvet is the enemy because it's one temperature. Proper layering allows you each to find your Goldilocks sleep temperature.
- Settle restless partners that keep you awake - My partner still sleeps when hot but he's restless, which keeps me awake. Our sheets, along with the right layers, helped settled him, interrupting my sleep less.
- Straight talk, no miracle cures - Heat and sleep is complex. Sheets won’t fix everything but the wrong bedding will ruin your night. We fix your sheets and can help fix your bedding layers that break sleep. That's one less thing keeping you awake.
Emailed free with every purchase
Your after-sale email will include my super easy Sleep Layersâ„¢ guide. Honestly, you'll kick yourself at how easy it is to make your bed breathe. Everyone's different, and every climate is different, so Sleep Layersâ„¢ is about helping you find your layers. And it all begins with the right sheet, backed by our 60-night bedding guarantee.
Fresh and crisp, light and airy
The Classic Hotel Sheet has that beautifully crisp hotel feel but it's European, so unlike most hotel sheets, it's 100% cotton. This makes it light and breathable, which regulates temperature for less broken sleep.
